Job Summary

The Commercial Title Insurance Recorder is responsible for the final review, processing, and timely recording of title documents with the County Recorder's Office. This role ensures that all documents meet the required technical and legal standards, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the recording process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Document Review & Proofreading: Thoroughly review all title documents for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with technical and legal requirements. Appropriately accept or reject documents based on established criteria.

  • Recording & Filing: Ensure the timely and accurate recording of all documents with the County Recorder’s Office. Maintain organized records of submissions and follow up on pending recordings.

  • Compliance & Standards: Follow guidelines set forth by technical memos, title policies, and industry-specific standards to ensure all title commitments and documents align with current regulations.

  • Customer Service & Inquiries: Respond promptly to inquiries from clients, colleagues, and third parties regarding the status of pending recordings and provide necessary clarifications as needed.

  • Document Delivery: Occasionally deliver title-related documents to courthouses or other designated locations, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.

  • Collaboration & Support: Work closely with the title and escrow teams, providing necessary support and ensuring seamless operations.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and title/escrow related software.

  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify and address discrepancies, ensuring high-quality work.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.

  • Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to assess situations, make sound decisions, and resolve any issues that may arise in the recording process.

  • Time Management: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
